RAM Push Start Premium Kit

I am very pleased with this kit. It was pretty much "plug and play" since it is comprised of MOPAR original parts. If your 2013+ RAM 1500 was not a Laramie and did not come with PBS and proximity handles, this is the complete factory kit you need. I had a 2012 RAM 1500 that I had to go with an aftermarket kit for PBS and proximity opening. Was not a kit I could install myself as it required additional adapter modules for it to work and required additional modification on my part for the PBS to function. With this kit, because it has MOPAR parts, AET takes care of all the programming for you. The provided instructions are very helpful, but some things will require skill and adaptation on your part. In my case I learned the included antenna is absolutely required. Even though your existing antenna will plug into the new RF hub, it will only give you about 1m range with the remotes. I also found installing the included antenna on the back glass in the driver's side corner edge in a vertical orientation rather than under the rear cab cover gives me optimal range on the remotes. Additionally, the instructions for removing the rear seats are spot on. I ended up routing my passenger side door wire along the passenger side channel. When pinning the wires for the door harnesses to the RF hub connector, make sure you follow the diagrams in the instructions. As stated in the instructions and videos AET provides.... CHECK YOUR kit for functionality before routing the harnesses through the doors then check them again afterwards. Swapping out the WIN module for the PBS module is direct "plug and play". Remember to disconnect your battery again. The connectors for the door handles and antennas might come pre-wired by AET like mine did. The "how to" video shows how to "plumb the wiring" through the frame and door looms. The passenger side will be much easier than the driver's side since there are not as many factory wires. Use WD-40 to lubricate the inside of the rubber loom and your connectors will be able to fit through much easier. The driver's side is going to be a bit challenging but take your time and do it right...and once. The video showing where to drill the holes in the plastic inner door shell was pretty accurate. I would strongly encourage making the holes a little larger than 1/2" so the socket and extension will fit through easier. It will also be best to use a magnetic socket or have a magnet under your socket as you remove the door handle screws. It is a major PITA to go "fishing" in the bottom of the door when they drop...plus a magnetic socket makes it quite easy to reinstall the screws in the new door handles. To cover the holes, I simply used rubber plugs available from Home Depot. They will be a long length of cable from the antenna connector to the door handle connector. To ensure there was no possibility of it getting tangled or crimped by the window I used 3M tape and secured the cable from the door handle connector down the bottom of the inside of the metal door shell. I also secured it to the inside of the inner door shell. Follow the examples in the videos for zip tying the other wire to existing looms on the inner door shells. Instructions are very clear on how to zip tie the remaining excess inside the frame of the cab from the door loom. Now you are ready to button things back up, reconnect your battery, and do a final check of everything. No need to worry about programming remotes because AET took care of all that. Enjoy your new FACTORY PBS and passive entry door handles. I've had mine installed for over a week now and it is nice only using my remote to remote start my RAM...not locking, unlocking, or running it.
